Our History

Founded in 2013 by Austin Moore, a Nottingham solicitor with over 30 years in corporate transactions, Austin Moore & Partners LLP has grown significantly in the East Midlands area and further afield. Clients are drawn to the firm’s rare offering of technical expertise, commitment to client service and transparency on costs. Since its formation, the firm has attracted experienced solicitors from “big firms” as well as cultivating its home grown lawyers to ensure our offering remains a unique and attractive proposition for business and property owners/managers.

2023

The firm celebrates its 10th birthday and Austin Moore is joined by the four other partners as equity owners of the business. The firm is again shortlisted in two categories at Insider Media’s East Midlands Dealmakers Awards.

2022

The firm wins Deal of the Year (under £10m) at Insider Media's East Midlands Dealmakers awards and are shortlisted for SME Deal of the Year in the Midlands Dealmakers awards.

2021

The firm opens a new Derby office and continues to grow, welcoming three new solicitors including Corporate Partner Dav Jaspal.

2020

The firm establishes a new commercial property team led by Lucy Carter who was appointed partner together with Natalie Thomson and Laura de Banke. The firm achieves a record year in terms of corporate transactions, which continue despite Covid restrictions.

2019

The firm is the East Midlands nominee for “Regional Law Firm of the Year” in the Legal 500 awards and continues to handle a larger number and value of corporate transaction.

2018

Louise Firth and Rebecca Del Grosso join the firm. Louise remains with the firm in a consultancy capacity handling commercial law matters. Rebeca Del Grosso has been promoted to an associate in the corporate team.

2017

The firm purchases the freehold of its office building at 7 The Ropewalk, following rapid expansion of staff numbers. The firm intends to remain based in Nottingham City Centre whilst serving clients across the UK.

2016

Natalie Thomson joins the firm as an associate from another Nottingham law practice. Natalie has grown the employment offering at our firm and has become a partner.

2015

The firm’s fees exceed £1,000,000 for the first time (and have continued to rise since). This was based on a lot of hard work and an increasing reputation in corporate transactions.

2014

Laura de Banke joins the firm as a newly qualified solicitor. Laura’s skills and abilities have developed greatly over the years, and she is now a partner of the firm and named as a Rising Star in Legal 500.

2013

Austin Moore leaves Gateley and Vik Moothia leaves Eversheds to found a new law firm focused on transactional work, aiming to disrupt a market dominated by much larger practices. The firm moves into 7 The Ropewalk, Nottingham, from where it still operates.
